“It’s the right thing to do and your Republican colleagues agree.”

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller Wednesday to act as a special counsel investigating Russia’s involvement in the U.S. election.

After the announcement, Trump issued a measured statement saying that the federal investigation would find no collusion between his campaign and “any foreign entity.”

But on Thursday, the president changed his tone.

This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history! Trump tweeted.

With all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration, there was never a special councel [sic] appointed! he said in another tweet.
