White House officials ‘tell Trump he is better than Obama’ to keep him sweet

It’s been said that masculinity is fragile – but you’d have thought once a person has been propelled to the highest office in the Western world, they wouldn’t be so insecure.

This allegedly isn’t true for US President Donald Trump; who needs to be validated by White House staff. According to a report by the New York Times, aides have learnt to to tell the President that he’s better than Obama, in order to “keep him sweet”.

The New York Times also reports that White House staffers have a set of rules for dealing with POTUS.

The piece by the paper’s Chief White House Correspondent, says

After four months of interactions between Mr. Trump and his counterparts, foreign officials and their Washington consultants say certain rules have emerged: Keep it short no 30-minute monologue for a 30-second attention span. Do not assume he knows the history of the country or its major points of contention. Compliment him on his Electoral College victory. Do not get hung up on whatever was said during the campaign. Do not go in with a shopping list but bring some sort of deal he can call a victory.

Nothing to worry about there…

Last week, Reuters also published an article about Trump meeting foreign officials.

In the article they said

National Security Council officials have strategically included Trump’s name in “as many paragraphs as we can because he keeps reading if he’s mentioned,” according to one source, who relayed conversations he had with NSC officials.

Remember when 2016 was the worst year ever?
